Why a Weekly Planner Should Be Your Most Treasured Companion

Monthly calendars are an invaluable tool, no doubt. I'll bet my bottom dollar you have one in your home, just like I do. The trouble with a monthly calendar is that although it gives you a good overview of the whole month, it's not a practical tool to start planning with. There's just too many days in the month to plan for! A much better idea is to use a weekly planner or weekly calendar. A weekly planner lets you delve right into your week, day by day, hour by hour. And in this article you'll learn why a weekly planner should be your most treasured office companion.

weekly planner

The first thing you need to know about weekly planners is that you can find them everywhere online. This is good for us all. This means we can print them out and get started making business and moving towards our goals. Never searched for calendars before? Simple. All you need to do is search for 'weekly calendars' or 'weekly planners' in your favorite browser. You'll instantly have more than enough calendar options, and a bunch of these are going to suit your style.

WEEKLY

But that's not all. There's an overlooked and important element that goes hand in hand with your weekly planner. (You might have to manually add this in). Basically I think the weekly planner is rather naked without a 'to do' list to accompany it. The 'to do' list consists of your highest priority to lowest priority projects that you need to do THIS week. This means that you can plan out your whole week using the days of the week and your priority 'to do' projects list. In other words, you can be looking at both at the same time. This way your planning is doubly sure.

Another thing you will want to do is print out more than enough of these weekly calendars or planners. You then write in the days to suit you. For example if next week starts on the 20th, then from the 20th to the 26th is your week. You personalize the calendar/planner to fit your week, and your needs. Maybe even make a few copies of your blueprint, I mean, calendar. That way you can keep one with you at all times, and another one lives on your desk or next to your computer. Or wherever you do business.

I know... all this takes work. And effort. And you have to introduce new habits that might feel uncomfortable at first. But believe me, once you get into the positive habit of writing your priority list out and planning your week out, you'll never look back. Your weekly planner will become your most treasured companion I'm sure of it. Try it and see.

MMA Workout Routine Weekly Planner

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is at the pinnacle of variety for combative athletes. Incorporating Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), submission grappling, wrestling, muay thai and boxing, you might be scratching your head on how to organize your training and conditioning into a weekly MMA workout routine.

weekly planner 2011

First off, you should realize that your routine will almost never be the same week in, week out. At times, you'll be peaking before competition, at others you'll be concentrating on your technical skills. Other times you'll be recovering from injury or overtraining. In still others, you'll be trying to gain strength, lose fat or increase your work capacity.

WEEKLY

No matter what is going on, your weekly MMA workout schedule will be ever-changing. However, it doesn't have to be chaotic: I'll discuss the basics which will help you organize your workouts on a week to week basis.

First and foremost, there is no "magic MMA workout routine." There are numerous ways to put together your training, and often times your workout schedule is built around your other training goals.

One adjustment you can make is to plan your hardest and most intense workouts towards the end of the week when you might be taking a day or two to rest.

The reason? Recovery.

Think of it this way: If you do your most intense workouts at the very beginning of the week, you'll likely be sore and exhausted for the rest of the week. You might grit through the rest of the week, but more than likely, you'll be tearing your body down, making you more susceptible to injury or catching a cold from weakening your natural defenses.

Probably the best way to figure it out is by finding what already works for successful professional fighters and essentially copying what you can from them and then tweaking it to fit your own personal MMA training schedule and goals.

Take, for example, Mario Sperry's MMA workout routine:

Monday through Friday - Jiu-Jitsu training during the day. Muay Thai training in the evening.

Conditioning Training 3x per week

Tuesday and Thursday wrestling.

You'll notice that he does some form of circuit training two to three times per week and then other conditioning workouts throughout the week. Hopefully this helps you understand how you might organize your workouts as well.

Printable Weekly Planner Sheets That Are Fit to Print

Printable weekly planner sheets were the idea I had trying to organize our four sons for school. Three of our sons have ADHD, and homework was usually a nightmare at our house. Part of the problem was that the boys often couldn't - or didn't - copy their homework down correctly in their planner, or if they did, they left the needed books or materials at school.

You've probably been there - "In your spelling notebook, write sentences with each of the weekly spelling words." Unfortunately, no list of words comes home, nor does the spelling notebook. Your homework nightmare has started before the homework even begins!

WEEKLY

We bought planners, but the only kids' calendars I could find had tiny lines for writing, distracting images, and unnecessary information. With the planners we tried, the boys couldn't fit their assignments into the tiny blocks for each day. Even worse, because a whole week was on one page, sometimes they put their homework into the wrong block - or on the wrong page.

At first, I wanted a planner that had weekly printable planner sheets. But week sheets had the same problems as purchased planners - not enough room, and too much information to put in it.

I decided that we needed a planner that had one page for each day, so the boys' large and messy handwriting would fit. I also wanted separate blocks for each subject, and places for notes to and from the teacher. Most of all, we needed a way to help the boys remember what they needed to bring home.

Since I couldn't find the perfect planner, I created one myself. Our first planner was handwritten in a marble composition book. But the results convinced me that we were on the right track! So I created another, improved version on our computer.

And - it worked! The teachers at school loved our new system. They helped us to use it effectively, and our boys began to actually get home with all their homework and homework supplies.

Getting homework off on the right foot was a huge help for our family. This one step helped tremendously in reducing the stress associated with homework.

Weekly Meal Planner With a Grocery List - Need Some Help?

If you are a mom with a hectic schedule, it is difficult to everything done without some organization and planning. weekly monthly planner

Do you find yourself sometimes buying things at the grocery store that you seldom or never use for cooking or baking? That's pretty typical with the way grocery stores market items with sales pitches like buy one get one free. It certainly seems like a great deal, but if you are not going to use it, it's really no deal. How can you put together your weekly meal planner with a grocery list that will work for your family and not cost you extra money? Here are some quick tips to help you get the meal planning process started.

WEEKLY

Know What Your Family Will Eat

Most likely, you already know what foods your family likes and does not like, or at least you have learned how to disguise some of the healthy foods enough to get them to eat a better meal. You use your knowledge to create your weekly meal plan by utilizing that knowledge.

Create Your Grocery List

Once you have decided what you want to make for the week, you can begin putting your grocery list together. Look at your meal planner for the week and check your refrigerator and pantry to see what you need to make those meals. Now put what you really need on your grocery list.

Stick To Your Grocery List

It's not always easy to stick to your list when the grocery store has all those sales going on right in front of you. You will need to stay focused and buy only what you need to make the meals you have planned for the week. This will eliminate over spending at the grocery store.

The process of making your weekly meal planner with a grocery list should only take you a couple of hours one day a week. Sunday is usually a good day for most people to get this accomplished. The first time you go through this process, it might take a little longer because you are starting a new routine, but once you start doing it on a regular basis, it should go much faster for you. Track your progress over a few weeks and you will see that you are saving a lot of time and money with this system.
