Build You Own Chopper - Things to Consider Before You Start

When it comes to people wanting to learn more about how to build a custom chopper they will find that the internet is a great source of information. Today not only will you be directed towards sites where you can arrange for one to be built for you but places where you have the opportunity to build your own from scratch.

chopper motorcycle

However when it comes to how to build a chopper for yourself there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration beforehand. In this article we look at what some of these are.

CHOPPER

1. Space - If you are going to be building your own custom chopper whether using a kit or through buying the parts yourself you need ample room to do the project in. Therefore you should use either a garage or large workshop for this project. It is important that the space you use is one that provides you with plenty of room to move freely around the bike as it is being built.

2. Using The Right Parts - If you intend to build your chopper from scratch then only use the parts recommended by the company who provide you with your building plans. If you don't then the parts you use may well not be of a quality that you would expect and could end up endangering not just your life but the lives of those around you. It is important that you purchase only brand new parts rather than used ones for constructing such a machine.

In fact the best advice we can give you if you are going to be building your own custom chopper is to use a bike kit. Not only do these come with all the necessary parts to construct such a machine they will be brand new and of the highest quality possible.

Chopper Orange County - How it Started

Orange County was one of the first counties established by the Province of New York way back in 1683. It is best known for West Point, an American Military Academy, and the Orange County Choppers. It is the most popular custom motorcycle shop in the nation and has it's own program on Television called American Chopper.

chopper style bicycle

Orange County Choppers also known as the OCC is a custom motorcycle shop and manufacture that was founded in 1999 by Paul Teutul Sr. and his son, Paul Teutul Jr. The Orange County Choppers has allowed their business to turn into a reality TV show that is one the discovery channel. The show is called the American Chopper and made it's big debut in September 2002. The show helped rise shop to fame and now has become one of the biggest bike shops known in the United States.

CHOPPER

Orange County Choppers are mistakenly believed as a California based company than a New York based company. Orange County California has been famous from it's own TV publicity with various movies and shows being based on the area. However, many forget of Orange County, NY.
Orange County Choppers has also started a side job as to having a family steel manufacturing company. This would make sense, since OCC is all about custom built bikes. However, the Orange County Ironworks was founded in 1970, way before Teutul began to build the bikes. It wasn't until the late 1990's that they moved from the steel business to the motorcycle business. The first bike ever made by the company was called True blue. It made its first appearance at the Daytona Bike Oktoberfest in 1999.

Since then, the company's popularity has grown. The company was even asked by the United States Air Force to make a 0,000 bike called the Raptor. The Raptor bike made its public debut in March of 2005. Raptor is around ten feet long and is modeled after the F/A-22 Raptor and was completed with the United States Air Force Symbols and a riveted gas tank.

The bike also has its exhaust system and rear view mirrors in the shape of jets. The reason why the United States Air Force hired the Orange County Choppers to make a bike was in hopes to reach the public. It was a promotional tool for the Air Force, but it was also great for the OCC because they got Nation Wide Publicity and has become a name around the world.

Orange County Choppers now has it's name on everything from t-shirts to key rings to the United States Air force. Even though this company has only been around for a little under decade, Orange County Choppers are still increasing their business and sales and have developed a gold-mine business. The Orange County Choppers are so famous, that even after the business dissolves, people will still be talking about the OCC.

Kids American Chopper Party Ideas For Motorcycle Lovers Who Hog The Road

The popular and tough guy TV show, American Chopper is one of the reality TV shows to gain a huge fan following amongst motorbike enthusiasts. If you or one of your loved ones is into motorbikes, why not plan an American Chopper party for your next special occasion?

Decorate the garage with motorcycling memorabilia and posters. On your invitations, ask everyone who has a motorbike to turn up in their riding gear. These two elements will make for great photo opportunities.

CHOPPER

There are bikers of every age group - males and females from teenagers to seventy year olds, people for whom being on a bike on the open road is the closest thing to being in heaven. As such you'll have to provide food and beverages that will be popular with everyone. Make sure there is plenty of beer (unless you're underage), as well as things such buffalo wings, steak or pizza. Have the party in the garage, so everyone who has brought their bike can park it in the drive.

As an alternative, don't supply alcohol. Instead, the bikers can gather, enjoy the food and atmosphere of the party and take off together for a ride afterwards. This a great way to top off an enjoyable afternoon.

Planning an American Chopper party can almost be as enjoyable as the party itself. And as well as being a novel way to celebrate a special occasion, your American Chopper party can be a way for your motorcycle-mad guests (who mightn't already know each other) to make new friends who share their passion.

Ten Reasons You Should Own a Custom Chopper

Custom choppers are the Mercedes of motorcycles, and they are as much fun to own as any super-luxury vehicle. I'm certain that when you see a custom chopper, you wish you had one for youself. Here's ten reasons to buy a custom chopper...

chopper motorcycle

1. FUN! Yes, this is the first and foremost reason. You will have more fun with a custom chopper than just about any other investment you make. Cars are fun, sure, but they simply don't provide the "in the wind" feeling that can only be obtained with a motorcycle and a custom chopper will make people stop and notice - and that's always fun.

CHOPPER

2. Resale value. Just like a car, motorcycles depreciate with time. At least stock motorcycles do. But custom rides and antiques don't - in fact they can appreciate if you continue adding value to your ride. 3. Breaking out of the status quo. Just anyone can own a stock motorcycle. Harley dealers have great stock bikes that anyone who has the money can buy. Newspapers abound with ads for stock motorcycles that are being sold by an owner - often because they want to upgrade and get their first custom chopper. That's the status quo in motorcycles. If you want to break away and stand out in the crowd, a custom chopper will do that for you!

4. Custom choppers are accepted by all motorcycle riders. Have you ever noticed that the Harley riders will accept custom choppers that aren't Harley builds much more easily than they will any other type of motorcycle? It's true, if your bike is a custom chop, even if the drive train is not Harley, the Harley rides will not shun you or make nasty.

5. Your custom chopper can reflect your personality. If you purchase a stock bike, there will be hundreds of thousands of people who have exactly the same scoot as yours. With a custom chopper, you can provide input and customization that reflects who you are.

6. Riding comfort is another reason to customize. By choosing the frame, engine, risers, handle bars, saddle and parts that create your custom chopper, you can create the chop that is most comfortable for YOU, the rider.

7. Pizzazz. You can add as much shiny, eye-blinding chrome as you choose; or you can have as little as you choose. If you want lots of fringe, accessories the custom chop to include fringe all over. If you want a very stark, minimalistic ride, you can have that too! How much pizzazz you add is your choice and only your choice!

8. Head turn factor. You can guarantee, no matter what custom chopper design you settle on, you will turn heads. You can add all the "head turn" factor to you chopper you desire. If you want, you can create something that is drop-dead unique and turn every head you encounter. But if you aren't a glutton for attention, you may choose a more simplistic design.

9. Make it solo. If you get sick and tired of the "can I ride with you?" questions and simply don't want anyone to ride behind you, choose a solo saddle design that provides you an excuse, "my bike only rides one - ME!"

10. Ego. Yes, we all have ego, don't we? That's what makes us what to be different to begin with. And a great ego stroke is riding out of your truly unique, one-of-a-kind custom chopper. Just don't let it go to your head! After all, you still want your friends to love you and ride with you!

chopper rolling chassis

In this article we offer some tips that could prove useful and which you should be thinking about when deciding what of the many chopper kits you would want to buy.

CHOPPER

Tip 1 - You should be thinking about only buying those kits where you are supplied with an instruction manual and also DVD. These are far more useful to you as they will actually show you what needs to be done as well as tell you. By being able to see how the parts will need to be constructed together will make it far easier for you to do complete the task also. If the seller provides no information as to what instructions are provided with the kit on their website then request the information from them.

Tip 2 - It is important when purchasing any custom chopper kits you know exactly what each one contains. In order to reduce their advertising costs the manufacturers of these kits tend not to list every item on their adverts. So it is important that you contact them to actually make sure that you get everything you need to build your chopper with. If they are cannot or unwilling to provide such basic information to you then choose to use the services of another kit seller.

For the work which you do not expertise in, it is advisable that you do hire a reasonable priced professional who can actually do it well. Believe me this will pay you well in the long run. Plan earlier: Do not start work on building your chopper half planned it is always advisable that you do plan properly and then decide on what you are going to do. It is preferable that you decide on what the parts you would require are and what would be your range of price, and choose the parts from the variety of options. It is not necessary that you buy each and every part at once, but it would be better that you stick to a particular plan otherwise you may be in a position wherein you would be hanging with urgent purchases and these purchases would make you to purchase things at a high price, so always ensure that you purchase things ahead. Incase you are intending to buy all cheaper stuff then it is always advisable that you buy stuff separately instead of buying a rolling chassis. Reuse the same parts: It would be an excellent idea incase you are considering using the old parts but the parts which are in good condition. For example a frame would not reveal if it is new or old one which has been custom painted. The same case will apply to the tanks also. Use the external sources: Most of the work you do can be really enhanced once you read the online publications, see the videos and on consulting few of your friends you have done this before. On the net you will find loads of information, you can even get the step by step guide on building the cheap chopperRemember quality is first: It is always important to remember that you do not sacrifice the quality under any circumstances. If you have to make a choice between two parts one of which is highly priced but offers extremely good quality then it is advisable that you do not choose the cheaper part as this will not last long on the creepy roads. So just remember that you do not sacrifice quality on any circumstances and give utmost importance to safety.

Polishing Your Chopper Motorcycle

Polishing plays an important role in increasing the grace of your bike. Polishing can give a brand new look to your chopper motorcycle. There are various types of polish available in the market, but you should use only automotive polish. Automotive polish is specially made for polishing motorcycles. These types of automotive polish give shininess .

Maximum part of the chopper motorcycles is made up of chrome. Therefore, chrome is having its own place in manufacturing. Chrome is used to give a blazing and flashy look. But it is not just about looks. Chrome is highly impressive and shines much better as compare to other metal used in the motorcycles.

CHOPPER

Chrome can get rust and rust is the enemy of all bike fans. There is nothing as disappointing than rusted chrome on an attractive bike. Polishing is very essential as it can remove the surface oxidation from your motorcycle that feeds the rust. It can also buff out every small scratch or stain, which is left unchecked and become the breeding ground of the rust later.

Metal polish can protect chrome very efficiently from rusting. Metal polish is strong enough to clean the surface deeply and removes the rough stains, surface oxidation and soap or water stains. If chrome part of your chopper motorcycle has being heavily rusted, then you may need to re-coat the chrome. This can be an expensive option; therefore you must polish your bike at regular interval of time. You can seal and protect all the metals in your motorcycle with a shield of polish. It is recommended to polish your motorcycle after every six months.

How to Polish

You can use buffing kit to polish your bike effectively and easily. Polishing requires different types of polish for different surfaces.

You can't polish chrome with an aluminum polish, as aluminum polish is useless on chrome and it is a waste of money. Therefore, you should consider the types of metals, which you want to polish - chrome, aluminum, stainless steel etc. and then buy the polish. There is a wide selection of specialized polishes available in the market.

The Chopper

A chopper is a motorcycle but not the traditional type. Choppers are motorcycles that have been radically modified by the owner or even the manufacturer. Choppers are motorcycles that have a few less features than a regular motorcycle. The chopper came into existence following World War II when soldiers came back to the United States and began modifying their motorcycles. The soldiers removed any part of their motorcycle that was unnecessary, too big, too ugly and too heavy. The parts that were removed were the fenders, the front brakes and turn indicators. Most motorcycles also have a spring saddle, but not choppers. Choppers have the spring saddle removed from the frame so that the driver can sit as low to the ground as possible. Most choppers are made with a v-twin engine.

chopper gas tank

The main reason for redesigning and editing a motorcycle into the form of a chopper was to prepare the bike for dirt track racing and even mud racing. Removing all of the heavy, unwanted and unnecessary parts made the bike lighter and easier to handle in a high speed race. The large front tire is replaced with a smaller one and so is the headlight and the fuel tank. Most motorcycles have a large fuel tank but choppers have a smaller fuel tank to lighten the load of the bike. As required by law, almost all choppers across the country have to have protective bars for the driver installed. Those bars, which are on the back of the bike and stick straight up in the air, are often referred to as 'sissy bars.' More often than not the 'sissy bars' can be seen over the driver's head when looking at a chopper from the front of the bike.

CHOPPER

The reason for returning soldiers from World War II to work on their motorcycles was that the majority of them had been trained by the United States to work on automobiles and heavy machinery while in the armed forces. They were trained to repair these vehicles while on the battlefield and while at the camp in case of breakdown or other technical problems. Almost all of these soldiers weren't even mechanics before joining the service.

There are a handful of companies across the country and the world that produce choppers. Jesse G. James' West Coast Choppers, Orange County Choppers, Indian Larry, Falcon Motorcycles, Warlock Motorcycles and Von Dutch Kustom Cycles are just a few companies that manufacture chopper motorcycles.

Where did the term chopper come from? Well, when the servicemen originally began chopping up and welding the frame of their motorcycles the term chopper was born. Choppers are not only popular in the United States but have become wildly popular in Australia, where ATV and dirt bike racing is also incredibly popular among the sports fans. Choppers have become so popular in the United States that even bicycles are being manufactured to have the look and feel of a chopper motorcycle. So now, even kids can ride a chopper if their parents don't own one.

Custom Chopper Motorcycles - Riding the Dream

There comes a time in everyone's life when motorcycles become not only interesting but accessible, for me this was aged 15, and at 16 I had my first motorbike.

chopper frames

The bike in question was a Suzuki ZR50 which was built like an old school chopper, with the seat, and handlebars to match, despite its blistering 28mph top speed! But unlike my friends who took an interest in the sports style motorcycles, I was hooked on the custom chopper and Harley Davidson scene.

CHOPPER

My ZR50 spent quite a lot of time in bits, I painted it up by myself, tricked up the engine to a new top speed if 48mph and I even painted a design of Eddy from Iron Maiden on one of the plastic farings.

That was 1987 and since then the custom motorcycle bug is an itch that I still enjoy scratching.

But the custom chopper & motorcycle scene is bigger today than it has ever been with the popularity of TV programmes such as American Chopper highlighting Orange County Choppers, and buying and selling custom built motorcycles is big business.

Finding the right market value for a motorcycle with a specific specification is difficult enough, but determining the value of a custom built motorcycle is a bit of an art, and you need to know what you are doing, so you're buying or selling a custom made motorcycle, then you need to see what other custom motorcycles are selling for, and get a heads up on the true market value.

Purchasing a custom motorcycle at the right price is an excellent investment IF you know what you are looking for, and you will be the envy of your friends.

If you are in the market for a custom chopper or Harley Davidson then you need to know your numbers and market value. Use our unique software algorithm to search for the best deals on the internet including eBay.

In these economic times people are selling their custom motorcycles at unheard of prices which means you can pick up a real quality custom motorcycle bargain.

Custom Built Chopper Motorcycles

"Whose motorcycle is this?"

chopper bike

"Its not a motorcycle baby, it's a chopper."

CHOPPER

"Whose chopper is this"

"Its Zeds chopper baby."

"Who is Zed?"

"Zeds dead baby, Zeds dead."

Now, most of us who were alive during the Nineties remember this scene from the classic American film, Pulp Fiction. I remember watching this movie for the first time and then wondering to myself, "What the hell is a difference between a chopper and a motorcycle?" This was before shows like American Chopper and Monster Garage came on to the scene and helped educate the public on the difference between a motorcycle and a custom built chopper.

A chopper is pretty much a motorcycle that had been customized, or "chopped" to give it individuality. The practice of building custom motorcycle choppers started sometime after World War Two when the biker culture began. Veterans came back from Europe, and found the big clunky motorcycles built by Harley Davidson and Indian unsatisfactory when compared to the lighter, faster European bikes. They decided to change the bikes by removing anything and everything that was unnecessary. They began to shorten, or remove the fenders to give the bike a sleeker look and the term "chopper" was born.

The custom-built chopper motorcycle evolved further during the sixties and seventies. Bikers began removing everything that was deemed unnecessary and replacing everything that seemed too big. Out went the windshield, the big blinkers and the big seats. The began raking the front wheel, so that it extended further out from the bike, giving the motorcycle a "cool" look and raising the handle bars higher. These customized motorcycles began to morph away from anything that was factory standard and became unique as each owner tailored their individual bike to what they deemed necessary.

The chopper took on an American Iconic status after the release of "Easy Rider" in 1969. Soon thereafter, the idea of a custom built motorcycle left the realm of the outlaw biker and entered the domain of the typical American. Soon, talented designers opened their own customizing shops replacing the guy in the backyard who put together bikes for fun. People started going to these shops to get their customized choppers instead of building it themselves.

As the baby boomer generation began to age, the demand for these nostalgic symbols of individuality began to rise. Soon, custom-built motorcycles were being produced and sold for exorbitant prices. Choppers were no longer the vehicles for the outlaw biker. They had instead become the status symbol for the weekend hobbyist with expendable income. Still, when I see one of these bankers going through a midlife crises flying down the freeway on a Chopper I cannot help but feel a shiver of danger and rebellion.

Building A Custom Chopper Motorcycle, Where Do You Start?

So you want to build a custom chopper? I do too, so the first question I asked myself, is where do I start. Should I make a business plan, a schedule, a financial statement, or should I just buy my wife some flowers and blindly proceed? I guess I should do all of the above but not necessarily in that order.

chopper bike

I will start by trying to justify this purchase and or endeavor, to do this I will make a list of my reasons for building a Chopper. 1) I want to ride a custom chopper, a totally cool stretched out, fire breathing, gas eating, pavement pounding, old lady scaring, 2 wheel monster. 2) I want to be able to say "I built that" when someone asks me where I got that totally sick bike. 3) I want to be able to customize the bike beyond the standard add on parts I can get for my current bike a Harley Davidson Fatboy. 4) I want to be able to make this dream come true, meaning I need to be able to pay for it. A ,000 chopper is out of my current budget. 5) I have been talking about this for 5 years so why don't I get to it and stop doing all the talking and start doing some building.

CHOPPER

Now I have a few reasons on paper a will look at my options, then make a plan, a schedule, and find some extra money.

Let's start with a my build options, and plan on a slow and steady approach. I realize I will need to do a lot of research before I start. I have 4 basic options, a kit bike, a rolling chassis, a start from zero build, or an extreme makeover of a current motorcycle.

Option 1) If I start with a motorcycle kit I maybe the farthest ahead from a mechanical perspective, and farthest behind from a financial point of view. What do I mean by this, well a kit bike has all the parts it just needs paint, labor, gas, oil and some love. The problem a complete kit bike will cost me ,000 dollars right up front. This is a bit out of my spend a ton of money now then not be able to ride a bike for a year or two thinking. If I get a kit, I maybe able to get it together faster, as I will be motivated and have all the parts ready to go. As a first bike I think this is a very good option, when you consider all the expensive mistakes I may make along that way. One drawback to this option is the amount of customization I can do to the bike as it is put together. Because all the parts are in the kit, I may resist the urge to get new bars or different sheet metal, or other parts.

Option 2) Start with a Rolling chassis, this is the middle of the road option, spend a lump sum of money, about 1/2 of what the overall bike will cost and get a basic setup that all works together.

A Rolling chassis kit consists of a Frame, 2 wheels, the forks, and triple clamps and bars, all build and configured to work together. Add a motor and a transmission and all the major workings of the bike are in place. This setup helps avoid some of the major work needed to mix match and fit these items together. This option also allows for a ton of customization in the parts that people see and the parts that give a bike it's personality. For me this is a very serious option to consider. I would only have 1/2 the cost and 1/2 the parts sitting around and gathering dust until I get time to get it together.

Option 3) Find each and every part one at a time and build a completely custom motorcycle. I know I could do this, but I also know I will encounter more unexpected and possibly expensive issues with this type of build. This option would give me a bike that no one would ever duplicate. This could be very good or this could be very bad. What if some possible combination of frame, motor, forks, or wheels didn't work together? It would not be discovered until the motorcycle was all together. I think this option is better left to the serious professional who build bike all night long, as the are working on other peoples bikes, and running businesses during the day. I may consider this for my second custom chopper.

Option 4) Take an existing bike and start cutting and changing it. This is maybe as involved as chopping and re-welding the frame to create a new rake and angles. Or it could mean just getting a new frame and using the engine, transmission, and various other part to build a new machine. I like this idea, and I think it would be a lower cost alternative to all new custom parts. With this option you are also able to keep the current registration and title if the frame is not replaced. This is also a lower cost option because a lot of the miscellaneous parts can be reused.

I know that in one page all the possible combinations of Custom Chopper build can't be completely explained, I just hope this information give you something to start with and build on. It has help steer me in the direction of a rolling chassis, so I better get shopping.

Reasons To Love A Mini Harley Chopper Scooter

Head Turners on the Road

chopper motorcycle

A lot of buzz is going on about the mini Harley chopper scooter, and teens are going crazy over these trendy bikes. If your child is moping for one, then you have to go over the pros and cons before getting one. You have to think real fast, because they are short of supply.

CHOPPER

These little bikes give off a big roar, and whiz past just like the big machines. Surely, you haven't turned a blind eye and deaf ear to a mini harley chopper scooter? It is a good thing these are not recommended for use along the highway and public roads. Definitely not. Look up these bikes at the key suppliers nearest you or hop online to check out details.

Should You?

Buying a mini harley chopper scooter for your son or daughter will require some caution on your part. If your child is eighteen years old you can get her or him this hot bike; and if you trust your child, who is below 18 years, then why not. Most parents would not allow this for valid reasons. They have a point here.

Unless they have the time to supervise their kids with the proper use of the mini Harley chopper scooter, then parents can get this bike without worrying unnecessarily. These mini clones can go at speeds up to 25 mph. Just about right for teens. It has stainless steel dual tips muffler, headlight brake lights, and rear signal indicators.

Another enticement to get this mini harley chopper scooter is the price. It is an affordable piece of steel for your child's fun, and pride. The machine is a fine specimen of detailed artistry. So you get real value for your money. You can test drive the mini Harley Chopper to check out how it runs.

Rocking Harley

The mini harley chopper scooter proudly displays a Harley Davidson logo. There is also a decal of a burst of flame on the seat and on the handlebars. A loud electric horn will warn anybody of the approach of the mini Harley.

Well as a parent, get your child the complete set of safety gear. Make sure he or she wears the helmet - whether it is hot or not. Some accidents have happened with devastating results just because the helmet was ignored.

Safety systems have been incorporated into this little meanie. There's the push button electrical ignition that can start and switch off the motor safely. Front and rear disk breaks can balance the mini Harley Chopper when put rapidly to a halt.

Which Mini Meanie?

The 36cc, and 43cc, mini harley chopper scooter models are not gas guzzlers. The first runs with a maximum speed of 16mph, while the latter can go up to 25mph. You can have an idea of the speed limits of the little Harley. So get one that you believe is best for your child. Now watch her or him ride with pride. Perhaps you would be riding it too. That would be another story.

Zoom, Motorcycle:

CHOPPER

This American Chopper party game is fun for the kids and is meant to be played while sitting down so the adults at the party can relax a bit too. Get everyone at the party in a circle and tell them that the group is going to start up one of the great motorcycles that have been tricked out on American Chopper. You'll start the motorcycle by saying zoom and the person next to you will repeat zoom and this will continue from person to person around the circle. Then you'll try and get the motorcycle going a bit faster by trying to get everyone to repeat 'zoom' faster and faster. Any person can stick out their arms and yell 'Eek!' when the zoom reaches them to stop the motorcycle. Though the motorcycle has to go into reverse when this happens. Whoever just said 'zoom' will say it again and the person before that and so on until someone stops the motorcycle again.

Chopper's Slogans:

Make up a bunch of slips of paper with the names of each of the guys and gals from the American Chopper party on them. You can list one person two or three times to make enough slips so everyone at the party can choose a name. Have each person draw one slip from a hat and give them each a pencil and paper. Have each person create a fitting American Chopper slogan for the American Chopper employee that's been drawn.

For the hardest part of the American Chopper party games each person has to begin each word of the American Chopper slogan with a letter from the character's name. Then everyone will read their slogans out loud and you'll pick the best.

The kids will really enjoy these two American Chopper party games. If you play some episodes of the show and have lots of good food at the party you'll have an even better time.

Flying Remote Control Choppers - The Pastime That Demands the Mastery of a Real Chopper Pilot

Mini RC helicopters are an important hobby for many people. These miniature helicopters have the functionality of a regular sized helicopter and provide a lot of excitement to fans of the sport as their pilots take their mini choppers into the air and perform many maneuvers.

chopper rolling chassis

There are numerous types of Mini RC choppers but the most ubiquitous models are the Exceed G2 (Version 2) and OS 91 for F3C Competition. The Exceed boasts a 400 Class brushless electric 6-Channel ready to fly chopper. It takes minutes to set up and comes with a high quality FM radio system. It has an advanced pitch controller to let you fly in any direction - even inverted. The OS 91 has 91HZ F3C Competition Helicopter Engine and is purpose built for competition flying. This is a high power chopper with enhanced stability.

There are basically two ways to get into Miniature Remote controlled helicopters. You can select the entire unit from your local shop (these are known as 'RTF' or 'ready to fly' models) or buy the components and assemble one for yourself. If you choose to assemble the complete chopper yourself, you will need to acquaint yourself with how the chopper goes together. They are no different from a full sized chopper. The manual that comes with the parts will provide much of this information but you should also have a exhaustive understanding of the mechanics. If you choose to set up your own chopper, you will need to make certain that all of the parts are correctly fitted prior to take off.

Learning to fly a remote control helicopter is easy. With a few hours of practice, you will be off to some great flying. The two most critical maneuvers are take off and hover. Once you master these two techniques, everything else should come easy. Again, these are the maneuvers that you'll be doing most. If you want to get some flying experience without risking your own chopper, you can use a helicopter simulator to learn the basics. A PC simulator will also show you how to execute all of the maneuvers that the chopper will allow you to accomplish. Again, there is no risk.

You should know that the skills for flying Miniature Remote controlled choppers and maintaining them in the air are the same as those required by a regular helicopter pilot would so there are some precautions to take when flying these little beasts. The blades of the machine can rotate at up to 1300 rpm, meaning that they have the potential to sever a toe or other part of the body. They can rip clothing that comes within its path. You will need to gain competency with the machine before you conduct your first flight in front of bystanders, otherwise you may cause serious bodily harm to them.

Also, remember that Mini RC helicopters use radios. In some jurisdictions you'll have to notify the FCC about your intended use, although today this is rare.

Always keep the Mini Remote controlled helicopter away from you. Many experts suggest that you maintain about thirty feet distance when flying your helicopter. You will find this measure practical in the event that the helicopter crashes onto the ground.

As a beginner there are many Mini Remote controlled chopper clubs that you can become a member of. Here you'll meet experts who can offer you tips on how to improve your skills.

When you are thinking of building a custom motorcycle using a kit you will be amazed at what some kits contain and what some do not. 1. Chassis - This is what you will be building your custom motorcycle around and is one of the most expensive items to be included in the kits. There is a wide array of designs to select from and which one you choose will depend on what riding position you are after.

2. Engine - Another crucial component in the kit as this is what makes the motorcycle travel along the road. Again there is a wide array of styles and sizes to select from and what you get will depend on how you want the bike to look.
